Burnaby Firefighters well represented on BCPFFA Executive

May 30, 2014 - Firefighters from Burnaby BC were acclaimed to three top level positions at the BC Professional Fire Fighters Association (BCPFFA) Convention that took place in Surrey this week.

Completing three successful terms, Burnaby firefighter Mike Hurley has been acclaimed to serve his fourth term as president of the BCPFFA. Brother Hurley is the former president of Local 323 IAFF and the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society.

Acclaimed to serve a third term as Trustee is Brother Miles Ritchie, current Secretary of Local 323 IAFF and of the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society.

Brother Rob Lamoureux, now serving as president of Local 323 IAFF and of the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society was acclaimed to serve his first term as one of three Lower Mainland Vice-Presidents.

Hurley, Ritchie and Lamoureux are part of the 14-member Executive Board that administers the affairs of the BCPFFA.

The BCPFFA represents approximately 3800 professional firefighters working in communities across British Columbia and is committed to providing services and resources to its’ member Locals of the International Association of Fire Fighters. The BCPFFA actively works with governments and other agencies to ensure their members and the citizens they serve are protected and cared for.

The BCPFFA also raises funds through its’ charity, the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund, currently in the midst of a capital campaign to build a new Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver – a home away from home for burn and trauma survivors.
