"Burnaby Fire Fighters undertook a huge fund raising effort for the victims of the devastating fires in the B.C. Interior this past summer. Our members sold close to 7,000 t-shirts in the Burnaby area in support of the Okanagan Fire Relief Fund, and we raised over $100,000. Every dollar raised has been sent to the Kelowna Fire Fighters, who will distribute the money to the Relief Fund. Thank you for your generous support."

The Burnaby Fire Fighters 11th annual Charitable Ball was held on May 10, 2003 at the Radisson Villa Hotel. This annual gala event helps raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, B.C. Division. We raised over $10,000 at the Ball, half of which was donated to MDAC and half which was put into the Burnaby Fire Fighters Charitable Endowment Fund.

Our Charitable Society was the main sponsor of the 17th annual Burnaby Hospital Golf Tournament. Over $130,000 was raised at this very popular event, and the proceeds will be used to purchase much needed equipment and furnishings.

"Thank you to volunteers and participants at our 2nd Run in the Heights which was held on September 20. The event was a great success with over 350 participants. Thanks also to the Heights Merchant's Association and Scotiabank for their sponsorship and assistance.
